Terryville Road Elementary School started the 2018 school year Wednesday, Sept. 5 with smiles and excitement. Terryville is one of the four elementary schools in the Comsewogue School District and is responsible for half of the district's third-, fourth- and fifth-grade students. The third grade students are new to the building and find themselves in good company as it is also principal Annemarie Sciove's first year at Terryville.

Sciove is herself a Comsewogue graduate with more than nine years of administrative experience, including one year as Assistant Principal at Comsewogue's JFK Middle School and one year as principal at Norwood Avenue Elementary School. Her knowledge and familiarity with this area is helping her connect with tyeachers and students, according to the district. Sciove introduced herself formally to each grade level at a brief assembly on the second day of school. She described her own experience as a student in Comsewogue and shared details about her family as well as her expectations of the students this school year.

April Victor, Terryville's former principal, "was an incredible leader and it will be hard to fill her shoes," Sciove said. "Instead I hope to follow in her footsteps and serve the teachers and students of Terryville to the best of my ability.
